Donna Savage

Donna’s areas of practice include guardianship matters, estate planning and probate, estate and fiduciary litigation, trusts, elder law, caveats, elective share proceedings, and mediation. Donna has a broad breadth of knowledge as a result of practicing as a general practitioner early in her career. Donna is an AV Preeminent Rated Attorney by her peers.

A graduate of Wake Forest School of Law, Donna has practiced in Gastonia and Charlotte for her entire career. She is a graduate of Purdue University where she received the Mortar Board Award for Outstanding Woman Scholar-Athlete.

Donna is certified as a Federal and Superior Court Mediator. She is a member of the Estate Planning & Fiduciary Law Section of the NCBA and served on the Section’s Fiduciary Litigation Committee; she is also the CLE Committee Chair for the NCBA’s Dispute Resolution Section (2018–2019). She has presented numerous CLE’s and most recently authored a chapter on Elective Share Litigation for the NCBA Fiduciary Litigation Manual.

Donna is an active member of the Mecklenburg County Bar and was the recipient of the 2014 Pro Bono “Outstanding Firm Service Award.”

Donna serves on the Board of Supportive Housing Communities, a non-profit committed to providing permanent housing and supportive services for the most vulnerable in Charlotte.

She serves on the UNC-Charlotte Family Council in a leadership role.

Donna and her husband spend their free time playing tennis. Her twins are in college at UNC-Charlotte and ECU. Her oldest son received a Parks and Recreation Degree from Western Carolina and is employed by Mecklenburg County.
